![]() Yeah and to this point, I am thinking about returning to my old Push2/Keystep/ableton setup and eliminating the MPC from the equation. HArdware menu diving, in my experience, can become a reality that frames a creative endeavor. (personally after 20 years of sequencing I'm relishing a totally sequence-free period, but that's a digression). Sometimes it's nice to be constrained by limitations, and sometimes it's not. mostly a good mouse, keyboard, big screen, great monitors. maybe a mic pre, mixing desk, 1 hardware synth. While back i was watching a tonne of computer music mag interviews with top DNB producers - who - mind you push sampling/resampling to their limits.ĪLL, if not most - had zero hardware on their desks. If I want to - i can add various flavours of distortion/re-sampling/colour with specific VST chains.Įvery time i veer away from the computer - with funny ideas that stem from forums, and "building the dream setup" - i get reminded by how much easier ITB work is. My current workflow - see sample, drag sample, play with sample. I thought it sounded great, but ultimately was a royal PITA. I dipped my toes briefly into hardware sampling - with an MPC 2000XL - its not dirty - had a clean glossy punch.
